Our Story

We adults often go through our daily routines without taking time to reflect; always looking to the future and never living in the moment. Sometimes we may lose sight of why we are living the kind of life we do, and our existence may often feel dull or meaningless. We are alive, but we are not truly living. Moreover, we often do not realise we are living this kind of life, until some major event forces us to take a step back and reflect. For us, the COVID-19 pandemic was such an event. COVID-19 made us realise we never took a moment to think if the kind of life we were living was truly the kind of life we wanted to live. COVID-19 showed us how fragile life can be and how important it is to make the best of the little time that we are given and to lead a lifestyle which we are truly happy with. This led us to make some major changes in our life.

We have two wonderful children who can be both mischievous and well behaved, as any parent would probably recognise. One day during the lockdown, they came to us and asked: “Mummy, can we have a little dog, please”. Given the circumstances it was hard to say “No”, and so we welcomed a sweet West Highland Terrier girl named Eggy into our family. Eggy’s presence not only excited our children; it also excited us. The monotonous days of isolation became more colourful, and each day felt much more interesting and worth cherishing, as we saw our children eagerly take on the responsibilities of playing, walking, feeding, training, and caring for Eggy.

COVID-19 no longer holds the world in its grasp as it once did, thank goodness. However, we should be careful not to forget what it taught us; be careful not to return to our dull, grey, predictable lives. We have decided that henceforth our lives are going to be colourful and we will try, with the help of our little dog Eggy who has brought us so much help, to make the lives of others colourful and joyous too.

Introducing people to Asian goods, we believe, is an excellent way of doing so. Asian goods are often specifically designed to look cute, colourful, and joyful. They are not just about functionality, but about representing a way of life. Western people, we believe, are missing out on this. Through a wide array of choices, we aspire to enhance the quality of life for Western people, as the products we will offer will integrate seamlessly with a colourful, joyful lifestyle. I personally witnessed the transformative impact of such products. Each day, my children eagerly unwrapped new products, experiencing a sense of joy similar to that of Christmas day.

Slowly but surely, our house became more and more colourful and at the same time, so did our lives and our family grew happier and more energetic as a result. It was more than a shopping experience; it was a journey that altered my life. Through EGGY Mart, I hope I can extend this transformative opportunity to others, so they too can experience this positive change.
